Hi,
Putting in a calorifier and I am unsure as to the threads on the fittings for the engine water take-off points. The engine is a 2YM15.
I am 120 miles from the nearest chandler, so it isn't practical to do a comparison first.
Sould the fittings be stainless.?
NPT parallel - tapered or something else.?

thx
Howard

Thanks Vyv,

I always worry about pipe fittings because most of the time they all fit each other, but, have different thread angles ( I think ) its a worry.

I'll see if Yanmar reply to my question, (not holding my breath )

Mine are standard chandlery, brass, straight, presumably BSP? Photo of them on my website under engine>calorifier in the indirect cooling part near the bottom of the page.
Can you look at my picture Vic.?

I have rolled-up paper in, what I think, are the in-out connections.
The horizontal top one goes to the thermostat housing/top hose, the rearward vertical one goes in the water pump outlet.

thx

What a ripoff

The Thermostat housing has a metric thread which requires a banjo fitting at a
Yanmar price of £86, including bolt banjo and copper washer.!

The Waterpump housing is an easier 3/8" NPTF ( Yanmar info )

I'll be getting something made by brazing 2 brass bits together.
