the pull to stop cable for our yanmar 3gmf has got horribly hard to pull and to push back - have tried squirting lubricant at pull handle end and engine end but no better so far - anyone had experience of this and solved it with existing cable or is a replace job?

thanks

I have the same problem, i took my cable out of the boat (which involved much effort), and it worked absolutely fine, put it back in and it worked for a bit but gone stiff again.

I have absolutely no idea why, i am going to have one more go at it and then replace if the problem reoccurs.

Replace it, quite easy, go to a bicycle shop and buy some push pull, they have it on a reel..

Or,

take it out, start trying to clean it, find so much corrosion that you can only save about 18" of cable and then go to the bike shop and buy some push pull, th......................
