I need to change the rear mount that supports the SD20 saildrive.
Yanmar 3GM30 engine which has already had the 2 forward mounts changed.

It looks like I need to remove the angle bracket that bolts to the gearbox and the mount -

The boat is in the water so I don't want the oil draining out of the gearbox, if that would happen?
I can't work out if it would from the diagram.

Thanks

Is that a v mount carrying the weight of the engine and SD ?
How are you taking the weight?
There are also two mounts that take the main weight of the engine but yes I will need to support the gearbox end.

I have a hatch above the engine so maybe able to rig a block and tackle from there to the engine below.
That's what I done when I changed the other two mounts a while ago.

I screwed an eye bolt into the SD20 in the hole provided and then rigged a tackle with jammer off a scaffold pole laid across the hatch. The pole was on top of thick wooden spreaders.

I asked this question sometime ago. My plan, when I next haul out is to jack the stern drive up from underneath to take the strain off the mounts and diaphram plus some wood under neath the rear of the engine.
