Yanmar price increase.

Had an email today from Marine Power advising that Yanmar parts to rise by 10% from February because of the low value of the £ against the Euro.
At least it isnt the 30% that the £ has fallen against the Euro.
Will the price of beneteaux, vw cars and Spanish fruit all do the same? Great handling Mr Darling! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Of course they will and about time too. Choke off some imports and do something about the humungous balance of payments deficit. Question you need to ask the politicos is why you have to buy Jap engines, Kraut cars and whatever the third one was that I've forgotten and cant see on the screen - rather than British ones.

Mind you I'd got to laugh hearing one "economist" on the radio burbling on about the economy rebasing, service industries declining and and manufacturing building up exports! Just how that is supposed to happen when cities like Birmingham and Sheffield have razed the manufacturing plants to the ground and replaced them with shopping centres selling imported goods, I really dont know. You wonder if these economists would know to get in out of the rain! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
