You may remember my earlier post concerning my yanmar overload symptoms and production of thick black smoke leaving a black deposit on the surface of the water.
It may be of help to know that after a quick dip in the marina at the weekend I found my Saildrive leg and propeller was partially fowled with what appeared to be a strip of polythene which had gathered a forest of weed with a variety of wildlife to boot! it could turn but their was detectable friction at the prop. I cleared the prop and gave it a scrub and my problem is resolved. Job done in 20 minutes thanks to the forumites assistance.
Cheers !
