After looking through YBW and web sites I have come across several different part numbers for an alternative oil filter for the Yanmar part no.119305-35151.(2GM20 engine) Can anyone please give me a reliable make and part no. of a filter I can buy in the UK. Thanks in anticipation.

I took my old one to a motor parts supplier - they matched it exactly at fraction of the Yanmar price. It says Motaquip VFL 332 on the box

If you go into any motor factors they should be able to cross ref that part no. Or contact http://www.ammann.co.uk/ and quote the yanmar part no. They should be able to supply at a price much cheaper than the marine folk.
Don't mention 2gm20 or boat though just the part no ;)

Odd that it says the 3GM30F needs three anodes, whereas the 3GM30 needs only two. My parts list shows one for the 3GM30 and none for 3GM30F.

Somewhat antique... my 3GM30 does have 3 anodes, which sounds reasonable to protect the innards of a raw water cooled engine. One, on the side opposite the injectors is not readily got at , unless you remove the fine fuel filter.
The other 2 are easy :)
