I am refurbishing a yanmar 2gm20 gearbox type KM2P. The gearbox and flywheel cover are bolted together using a gray jointing compound. Does anybody know where I can obtain the compound ?.

Hi,
I had the misfortune to have to stripdown the front end of a Yanmar 4JH3. The front gear housing was sealed with a flexible grey sealant. I guess it could be the same that you require.
I bought the sealant 'Threebond 1184' from 'Branded Biker' website, it s used extensively on motorbikes, here :
