Hi folks i have just aqired a bayliner with a yanmar 4 LHA STZP ENGINE & A BRAVO 3 OUTDRIVE does anyone have advice on wintering or have any workshop mauals for these or user instuctions for a bayliner 285 for sale.

Does anyone happen to know what the Yanmar 4LHA series engines are based on? Someone I was talking to thought they may be based on the Toyota Landcruiser engine, would be good to find a source of lower cost parts should I need them.

This is a Yanmar engine, they only used the Toyota 4.2 landcruiser engine (6LP)

Aqua, I'm not sure what you mean? Are you saying that only the 6LP Yanmar engines are based on the Landcruiser and the 4LHA engine is completely manufactured by Yanmar?

yes only 6LP is Toyota and 4LHA is their own and one of their best, I think when they stopped using the Toyota and swiched to BMW they had many problems and iirc they are due to swich back to Toyota soon if not already.
Yanmar also use Scania for their bigger engines but most of the range is their own
