I have lost the warning beep and oil pessure warning light when I switch on the ignition and on turning the engine off. The no-charge warning light still works fine and then so does the beep when I use the test button. The problem in intermittant in that the beep and oil pressure light came back into action for a short while before vanishing again. Oil pressure is fine as I motored back from Cherbourge without problem. I looked behind the control panel and at the oil pressure switch itself and all wiring seems OK.
Does anyone have any ideas on what else to check on prior to seeking professional help?

Its possibly the oil pressure switch that has failed, to test this touch the wire to the engine block with the ignition on and see if the oil light comes on if it does then the switch is faulty. if not there is a problem in the wiring.

With the smaller engines, the wires to the oil and temp sensors are held on by small cross headed screws. These have come loose on my boat making an intermittent contact.

Waterboy - had an identical problem with my Yanny and indeed it turned out to be faulty presure switch. As stated here touch the lead to the engine block and see if it beeps!
