Yanmar 6LY2A STP

Trying to cross reference the filters for this engine, I've tracked down some Donaldson and Fleetguard part numbers but does anyone know the base engine? I think it's an Isuzu but I can't find an Isuzu with same litres and bore sizes.

Any help appreciated


(BTW the Fleetguard prices are about half the Yanmar prices!)

toyota I believe - Landcruiser Amazon uses it

Ive got yanmar 6lp dte and they are 1999 toyota landcruiser 4.2 litre amazon engines and parts are identical to the ones toyota sell some bits are different colours

Just a thought, but the 4 cylinder Yanmars (such as mine) were Toyota Landcruiser Amazon based.

I don't belive they are (having both a Yanmar 4LHA and a Landcruiser 3.0TD............)

The Landcruiser 3.0l is the base for the 200hp Nanni's

that's what they produce is'nt it. 6 cylinders 5.9 liters, 550kg weight,

6lp is based on the toyota block

don't know about the 6ly - with increased stroke and bore (adding 1.7l displacement) and over 100kg additional weight it's hard to see it as the same base unit.

In the end I've tracked down all 3 filters from Fleetguard/Cummins and they're are at such a saving that it's not worth anymore tracking down.

Generally the saving is about 75% over Yanmar and you can't doubt Fleetguard quality.

Thanks Duncan. Saves mucking up when purchasing bits. Will stick with Barrus. By the way the new BMW units look the way to go. If they run the same processors as the auto units then 'Superchips' will give and extra 46 hp (to 277) and 97 lb extra torque.
