Does anyone know how much oil needs to be added to get from the low to high mark on the dipstick? A friend said they thought it was one litre but wasn't sure. A search on here and with Google didn't throw up anything definite.

Do we assume dip sticks have never been properly calibrated since engine installed?

Correct. The dipsticks for both engines simply have a high and low mark and nothing else.

If dipsticks have high and low marks they HAVE been calibrated as part of installation process..........What else are you expecting?

The difference between the high and low marks on the dipstick must equate to a volume of oil. It's that volume I'm trying to find out.
