Hello all,

Thought I would ask on here first before I went and bought new, I am looking to make up an emergency spares kit for a Yanmar 4HLA - STZP 240hp engine - usual bits, belts, filters, impellor anodes etc - anyone got any of these bits (new) that they want to sell on (no longer needed maybe!!) - PM me if you have - thanks.

I've got two broken power steering pump coolers, one of which brazing failed flooded engine, needing a new engine. One melted piston, four engine block liners, one oil pipe with failed brazing which meant oil loss screwed up the second engine. Only 100 hours on all of it.
If any are of use they're yours after the court case.

No spares but I have the 200hp Yanmar motor. It's identical block to the 240. An extra 40 hp a 20% increase would be great. Last year I asked the suppliers what would be needed to upgrade my 200 to a 240 and was advised the so many parts would need replacing it would be cheeper to get a new motor?
As the two and the specs appear essentially the same, I am sceptical. Can anyone out there who knows about these motors advise, is it possible to upgrade the 200 to a 240hp at rea /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifsonable cost?

Regards
Paul
