As the title says, I have a Yanmar 4JH2DTE which seems to be outputting less power than it should. I can't get it up to the revs I used to be able to get it to.
The turbo charger has been replace, the inter-cooler has been cleaned out.
At a certain point, on the throttle lever, the engine reaches a maximum 2700rpm. It used to go to 3300rpm. I still have a certain amount of throttle travel left - but if I do that, after a while I have copious black smoke coming out the exhaust.
This would seem to suggest that the turbo boost is below what it should be.
Is there anything which can be adjusted some where to boost the pressure? Or anything I can check to ensure that I have the right turbo, and not one from a 4JH2 but a lower powered variant of essentially the same engine?
