During winterisation checks I noticed some chafe on the wiring loom between the alternator and starter. I can see the bare end of a large diameter red wire sticking out of the chafed spiral plastic cable cover. The main alternator wire is connected and intact. Everything is running and charging normally. I can't detect any volts on the wire. No sign of anything in the wiring diagram. Anybody know what the purpose of this might be before I start investigating. Twin alternator wiring possibly? I have had the engine from new so its not been modified in any way.
