Hi

Can anyone tell me the thread size for the Water Temp Alarm sender and the Oil Pressure Alarm sender for my 2021 model year 3YM20 engine?

Am looking to upgrade the senders to VDO so they can give analogue information as well as alarm data and wonder what thread sizes I need to ensure they are a direct fit in the engine?

Thanks

worth reading on this subject regards the threads on the sender units

There's something in the back of my mind saying the oil pressure sender thread was M10x1 on my 3YM30 (rather than 1/8 BSP). This differs from what's suggested in the link above, so it's worth doing a little more research if you can. The Yanmar parts book sometimes tells you.

Hi all. I am still trying to achieve this plan above and have determined that the Yanmar parts for the existing oil pressure and water temp are senders are:

Yanmar Oil switch 114250-39450
Yanmar Water switch 128990-44500

Looking at this description from a European supplier it seems that the temperature switch has a 106 degree spec which I assume is the point at which the alarm sounds?

Yanmar 128990-44500 temperature switch

Furneaux Riddal sell VDO sensors but they are only in earth return variants eg. VDO Water Temperature Sender 1/2" (805/1/4)

Does anyone feel able to help confirm if I can use an earth return sender and alarm variant on my 3YM20 and if so what spec it needs to be eg what temperature and oil pressure etc? The point about the thread I will resolve once I know the spec for the VDO sender.

I am happy to pay an engineer who has experience with Yanmar engines and the Antisense EMU-1 for their time to research it if they'd like to PM me and agree a fee.

Many thanks all
