Yanmar 3GM30 audible alarm

I think my engine buzzer doesn't. I will try to test it this weekend as it is removed from the boat. I have been quoted £140+ for the replacement unit which seems expensive to me. Can anyone suggest an alternative in case the current one is defective? Thanks all.

Maplin have several at cheap prices

You can get a car horn from the breakers, and frighten the crap out of yourself when it goes off. Any 12v noise source will do.

Thanks for the replies. I will try Maplin if necessary - I think the car horn may be a bit excessive evry time I start the engine

Maplin charge at least double any internet electronic supplier but even so a piezo buzzer should be loud enough and only cost a £ or two.

3GM30 buzzer has a number of diodes inside standard maplin one will not work.
when mine went landed up taking it apart to repair take a look at the wiring diagram

Thanks for the warning. I will test it this w/e, and, if it doesn't work, open up the box!!!
