Any ideas....
Freshwater cooled 2GM20 in my open launch, snowed up over winter which left some water sitting in the boat for several weeks with associated condensation.
Engine is in good order, however when I turn the key and press start it 'clicks' but will not start. Audio signal goes from high pitch to quiet. Oil and charge indicator bulbs shorting and when bulbs removed the audio signal gets louder. Battery is good so have ruled this out as cause.
Any ideas?? My electrical knowledge is sadly lacking and am wondering if this is down to the wiring loom or switch panel?
Thanks for any advise.

Undue and clean all terminals/connections to/from battery to solenoid/starter etc and reconnect. My guess is poor connection down to crud etc on the connections somewhere.Had to do the same after the winter. Good luck

Welcome to the forum

You will find plug in connectors in the wiring loom as well. Notorious for poor connections due to damp and dirt!

Thanks all for the input;
I've checked/cleaned the connections etc with no resolution, fuses are all good. Any other thoughts?
Cheers

you need to check the voltage at the keyswitch whilst pressing the button, the voltage should not drop below 12 volts, if it does then you have to trace the fault back. likewise if you have the 12 volts at the switch follow the voltage down the white wire to the solenoid and you should have 12 volts there whilst pressing the button.

The supply fuse in the plastic barrel should be a 30 amp fuse if that goes you get no lights and no buzzer when you turn on your key. I managed to blow mine when fitting a new fuel gauge
