I have some Vetus Mitsteun (rubber/hydraulic) engine mounts that I hope to fit on a Yanmar 2GM20.

I am not sure if they are going to fit easily, as the Vetus mounts are 100mm in diameter, and may foul on the engine or ancillaries.

Problem is that I am 60 miles from the boat and workshop manual at present.

Has anybody fitted these mounts, and if so, did you need to do any mods to move the mounts further from the engine?

Thank you.

If you want to move the mounts further from the engine, you are looking at a much larger task than is really necessary, as you will need to alter the engine beds as well as the bearers.

Before you do anything, l would obtain a scale drawing (available on the web) of the engine, and you will be able to judge whether you have sufficient room for the Mitseuns.

For me, the problem is not the space between the bearer and the engine, but the space between mount & surrounding engine box.
