Probably obvious to most people... but...

Are the hoses 'engine-side' of the Water pump (eg. to the bypass t-junction, thermostat, and anti-siphon device/exhaust elbow) specific Yanmar ones, or can I use any suitably-sized hose to replace my worn looking ones?

I've looked at UK Yanmar-spares sites, and kind find any of these hoses... but there's a couple of US ones that seem to indicate Yanmar parts exist.

If I can use 'any' hose... what should I get - presumably something heat resistant!?

Any advice appreciated - Thanks!

I had to fit my own after needing to cut one off when splitting the engine.

I scavenged a piece from a truck hydraulic outfit, I actually wanted to buy it along with some other stuff which they did not have in stock and they wouldn't let me 'switch' under two pounds, I had not cash, so they gave it to me.. by the by.

The hardest part is the 90° angles they use. I managed something close enough using boiling water and forming it, it does not look as manufactured as a yanmar hose, but most importantly it is not closing up the flow at the crease.

It is just standard engine water cooling pipe, take a piece into a motor factor who should have it on a roll.

The two on the engine are custom. The lower one is shaped and it would be sensible to have the genuine one, but the upper one is straight. The one from the outlet to the anti syphon and exhaust injection point is just ordinary heater type hose 1/2 inch. I expect Yanmar do a shaped one if you don't have an anti syphon valve, but mine has had heater hose for the last 15 years without any problem.

Re: Yanmar 1GM10 water Hoses - Thanks for the help/advice!

Many thanks all - have a couple of leads on suitable (& reasonable) pre-shaped hoses from this.
