Apologies for the post on SB but not many replies - although those that I did receive were done so gratefully.

I am going to service my Yanmar 1GM10 myself. I keep the boat on the Hamble where there is already a Yanmar agent and service centre. However, I suspect it might be expensive to buy the parts there.

Can anyone suggest where I might be able to buy all the usual stuff - filters, anode etc AND whether there are any other brand names/types I should consider that are suitable.

Thanks in advance

Well just to get you started....

The oil filter is the same as that used on a Mazda 323 series 3 1.6litre from around 1994 and is available from most car accessory shops. Purolator, Fram, AC Delco and Bosch are all reputable manufacturers. As to the anode, I would only use the O/E Yanmar part here because it's going to be with you for a while and you'll only know that it's wrong or of poor quality when your exhaust rots away!

When I had a 2GM, I always had trouble getting Jabsco water pump impellors off the shaft but never had a problem with "Genuine O/E" ones.
