Good Afternoon
Can anyone advise how I can tell which size drive belt is right for my engine - there seem to be two choices? Engine fitted in 2008.
Thanks

Take the belt to an auto parts store and ask them for a replacement. If you get a spotty faced youngster who needs a part number for a computer head elsewhere. Agriculture engineers are usually pretty good at recognising parts if you pass through a rural area. If the belt fits make a note of the size and buy another as spare. Method has worked for me with a couple of engines (including a 2GM but that was boat before last so can not remember size).

You might find the engine manuals online.

My 1GM10 used a Gates 6560MC but there are two different lengths so you need to double check which is correct for your engine.

The earlier engines had a smaller alternator pulley which rotated the alternator faster but put a significant load on the engine when just started.
You probably need the longer belt and here are some options~;
