The tilt and trim motor on my (old) 60hp motor is only working intermittently. Does anyone know if this motor can be reconditioned? If it can, any recommendations?

Sounds like it could be an easy fix.

Electrical or hydraulic. Does it have enough fluid in It? They take auto transmission fluid.

Yes it can be rebuilt. It's 2 bolts usually that holds it on.
I had the very thing done to an old yamaha I had some years ago
I presume you know it's the trim tilt motor and not dodgy relays ?
I had a mariner 90 that ate them for breakfast ?

Thanks for the replies, it is an electric motor but on further inspection the casing looks damaged/corroded so I may go for a new one.

An intermittent fault sounds electrical, relays or feed. A fault up only/down only or all the time intermittent should give a clue. My PT developed a broken wire (faulty crimp from new) and I took it all apart before I discovered the wire broken inside the outer insulation!
