Yamaha Malta...will it be powerful enough?

I'm currently restoring a Evinrude 6HP Fisherman 6003B from 1970 back to life but while I await some parts I'd like to know if a Yamaha Malta will be sufficient to power a Dejon 14 up and down the Thames?

I will be travelling between Maidenhead and Henley on Thames?

I'm also on the look out for a second hand outboard, what horsepower do you think would be best to use on the Dejon 14 and maybe a 17 foot Dell Dory?

Anyone give me a guide to what the Yamaha Malta will be able to push along the Thames?

2hp will push it on non tidal waters.
5hp will get it up to 5-7 knots

The Malta is only 3hp, its a great light weight tender engine, and was (and I think still is) the lightest twist grip throttle engine you could buy. It will power the Dijon on still water to around 3 or 4 knots, but in truth I think you could do with a little more power than this.

Malta 3.3hp and will just push a 2.5m tender to 5knots on a good day with 2 adults so I agree its not enough for that boat.
