Hi all

I am in the process of buying a big bad rib!!!

It has a toyota ME420sti diesel engine coupled to a yamaha Hydra single prop leg cira 1997.

Anyone have any experience of these mechanicals. I believe it is the same engine used by yamaha and possible yanmar. 4.2l diesel (also its the landcruiser)

There is very limited info on the interweb so if anyone has pdf manuals etc.....yes please.

Any help and guidance much appreciated.

I will also post some before and after pictures as its currently orange but will be black and grey!!

The price is extremely competitive to say the least with refurbed trailer too!

there is a issue with these engines in performance boats where i have seen the engine mounts break. if you spend lots of time in rough water or like wake jumping you should look at the mod for the engine mounts. simple mod of a ty bar between the mounts to reduce flex cos when you bust it it is a new block as the mount pulls out of the side of the block. all the mod boats that use these engines are fittted with it and i have seen a 32' sportsboat with twin engines bust a block from this as well.

Great units I have looked after 2 for moody off this forum never really had any real problems or breakdowns just anuall maintainance.
