thanks very much for the info on this problem.
i had same the lumpy running issues today. tried swapping everything with known good parts. still ran lumpy once throttle was opened. (ticked over and idled sweetly) check the oil pressure switch and that was good.
this engine did have low oil pressure!!!!!! removed the wire to the oil pressure switch and it revved up lovely and ran fine. i cleaned the oil filter mesh but still had low pressure. will swap the oil pump before using again.
