Yamaha 2B problems

So you've too much water coming out, and (I suspect) I haven't enough. Perhaps we could come to some arrangement? ;)

I only ever got some sputtering out of the little plastic thing at the back of the leg. I learned through this forum (probably from VicS) that most of the water goes out underwater with the exhaust. In any case the motor never gave any signs of overheating. However, after replacing the impeller unit including the aluminium and plastic housing (not exactly cheap) in an effort to increase the flow, I became aware of the leak from the side of the head. Perhaps the new impeller was creating too much pressure? One of these days I shall try to clean off the material to bare metal using a Dremel-type tool and then plug the hole with epoxy putty or something similar. It is an old engine that doesn't get much use anyway. Still runs well though. I very rarely bin something. ;)
