Hi everyone, Could someone tell me where I can find a diagram of the carb on this engine. This engine was purchased from a dealer in Portsmouth on the 27th. March, 2012. My son purchased the same engine from the same dealer at the time. I was sold the 2011 model my son got the 2012 model at the same price. I am told by Yamaha that there is no mechanical difference. If I were buying a car I would expect to be advised by the dealer that he was selling me last years model. I purchased a 2.5 yamaha in 2003 and it had carb problems I understand this is a common problem with this engine. I purchased the newer engine because my previous engine was stolen from a sailing club outboard store at Hardway Gosport and I needed one straight away as my dinghy was loaded to go out to my boat. On enquiring from the dealer re the warranty I was asked "did you bring the engine in for its first service" apparently you have to do this otherwise the warranty is invalid. I service the engine and the previous engine myself and you can visit a dealer site on utube that shows you in a video how to service the engine yourself and this site is an official yamaha dealer so how does that sit with having to bring in the engine to an official yamaha agent and have it serviced by an official yamaha mechanic. Carburettor diagram anyone please? the engine won`t start and it is clearly fuel starvation.
