Yachty snobs?

In a word, no.

And it would be very poor form for anyone to do so IMHO. We are all amateurs, even those of us who sometimes manage to create a false appearance of professionalism on the odd occasion (which is hugely satisfying, however). So one amateur ridiculing the amateurishness of another amateur is pretty ridiculous, if you think about it.

Thats a form of snobbery since it implies that a professional is in some way superior to an amateur.

And in the old days it was always the other way round - professionals ie tradesmen went to the back door to be let in. But things have changed. Nowadays you should be polite and friendly to the peasantry in their mobos.:D

I've just realised that I'm a workboat snob: rather than trying to avoid marks on the topsides and deck, I'm always happy to add to 'em. The scruffier it gets, the happier I become.

Next job is to replace those 'yachtie' fenders and replace 'em with car tyres ...

Thinks ... I've gotta add some mild steel somewhere. 'cause a few rust streaks would really set things off a treat.
