Yacht Transport

These shipping companies specialise in yacht transport - you could perhaps try writing to them :

Peters & May seem to be the leaders re 'small' yacht shipping :
http://www.petersandmay.com/da/13138
They have been shipping Sunsail yachts between the Med and the Caribbean on a regular basis for the past 10 years or so.

Dockwise :

These folk seem to be aiming for the larger yachts.....

Spliethoff :

Spliethoff are very versatile, can carry almost anything, but are more geared towards heavy lift.

And there are a few others in the 'sponsored links' if you google yacht transport.

I understand that the cost of shipping a boat can compare favourably to having a delivery crew sail her across on her own bottom.

Oh dear Bejasus, US$38k, that is a wee bit expensive to say the least (so much for shipping being competitive with a delivery crew!) - I would agree with Kilter, and suggest that the Atlantic Dreams sail back instead - and that way they can enjoy the Azores on the way home!

Depends where she is. Fort Lauderdale is close to a normal yacht pick-up point and they wanted about £10k earlier this year for a 39ft cat to Portsmouth. (about same price for yacht delivery crew, but they at least could come back via azores to get cheaper VAT.)

This is part of a mail I received from Dockwise 12 months ago. Boat is 10.6 m x 3.3 m x 1.4 m.

Try Dieter at global yacht services 07866 447723

Tell him I gave you his number, he sometimes takes a few days to answer voicemails because he does some yacht deliveries himself, but also does shipping. I spoke to him yesterday so he may be near land.
