Looking to move a Westerly Griffon by road from Ipswich to Langstone.
Can anyone recommend a local company (local to Ipswich or Langstone) that has the facility to self load onto a trailer using a front mounted HIAB crane?
Search facility turns up a couple, but their websites are no longer available.
Need the HIAB to lower and put up the mast at either destination to make things easy rather than using separate companies/operators to do each task.
Thanks.

Getting a bit p8ss*d off with this now!
After emailing about 25 different haulage companies (both boat transport specialists and heavy haulage companies) only 5 have had the decency to reply back to me with either a quote or a "sorry we cannot help you" message.
Part of my current job involves contacting customers regarding quotes for repairs to their equipment.
EVERY single enquiry receives a response.
Why is it the common decency of replying is now a dying art?
Even if a supplier/contractor cannot assist with an enquiry, why do they just not bother replying? Is it too small a job or are they making so much money, they can afford to pick and choose what work they want?
Maybe its time to set up a haulage company!!

This is the way of the world these days. If it does not earn them money then don't do it.

Most in-built cranes on lorries are good for 1 tonne a few for 30 cwt any distance outside the wheelbase.
For a Westerly Griffon, you'll almost certainly need a separate lift crane and a low-loader.
This might account for the number of no responses you're getting - the machine for which you're has not yet been invented.

My Vega (just under 3t) was launched/recovered using a lorry-mounted HIAB.

Westerly Centaur transported using lorry mounted hiab. No problem, just make sure there are spreaders to avoid pinching the gunwales.

My Artekno H323 which weighs 3+ tons was moved by Hiab firstly in North Wales and subsequently on her yard trailer in Northern Ireland

Mate had his Jaguar 25 transported last week by the firm I suggested. Griffon would not be a problem provided the truck can get close the boat to lift.

Try Jeff at the address below, he has fold up lorry mounted crane which will probably lift Charle's 1 ton lorry let alone a Griffon - believe it can lift 7 ton close in - diminshing obviously as further out. Can't see mast being a problem. It won't be cheap tho' so why not sail it ?

Hiab disagree http://www.hiab.co.uk/Products/Loader-cranes/?productGroupId=34360

23 tonne metre would allow a fair bit of reach for a 5 ton boat.

There are trucks fitted with suitable Hiabs to lift a Griffon and able to carry such a bilge keeler on their flat bed and remain inside load limits.
We have at least one such company in Edinburgh.

I had a konsort lifted by a friend and it was a decent size inboard hiab but it struggled It might be able to lift a lot close in but just to get down beside the lorry is a 3 - 4 meter reach minimum. (Centre of lorry to side then plus load centre ) and my boat for instance is near on 10 meters long so that is a minimum reach of 5 mts to lift it Of the lorry bed Look at hiab lift chart for 5 ton at that reach thair is lorries with larger ones
