Hi All,

Due to the constantly rising costs of marinas (and general boating costs), I need to sell a part share in my Seahawk. Can anyone recommend where/how top sell say 1/2 or 1/3 share?

Also, is there a 'share contract' available for download anywhere?

Thanks,

Isn't there a "Share a Boat" section in YM classified ads? You might also look at one of the specialist companies such as Yacht Fractions, whose website has a lot of useful info (although finding it is a bit of a chore!).

Where do you keep your Seahawk? Might be interested if you're looking to sell a 1/3 share and we live not far from you in the Nottingham area. Are details of the boat available anywhere?

boatsandoutboards.co.uk have a yacht share section. That's where I met my partners. We got a contract from the RYA. If you PM me I'll see if I can find it and forward it to you. We felt it was a bit jargony, so we paraphrased it (to everyone's satisfaction).

We're just completing our first year, successfully, but it took a while to find our optimum grouping. I believe that, as the current owner of the boat, you may find it difficult to come to terms with the fact that she's no longer 'yours' alone. We didn't have this as our partnership was new and we went out and found a boat.

I found some very good advice on this forum re sharing - a search should turn it up if you've not already done that.

Good luck!

Best bet is to sell the boat and buy a cheaper one. Do you really want to get involved with other folk having a share in your retreat from life??

Sell the whole boat in say 4 or 5 shares , and buy yourself another ( smaller) one that you dont have to share with anyone. I have used Yacht Fractions on two occasions in the past to sell shares in two yachts and found them to be excellent, professional and with a large list of buyers.
I have no connection with them apart from being a satisfied client but credit where it`s due!. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
