A valuable boat, rumour has it that it is now for sale but could not find the link myself. A faulty capped off underwater fitting was the culprit apparently.

Where do you get that from ? The owner has said the insurance surveyor has not found found the cause yet.

I Guess you did answer my question .. i just questioned the wrong poster..

In the YouTube comments. The video poster has suggested an underwater fitting - capped off. More recently, that is was 'most likely' an underwater fitting and they are expecting a surveyor to confirm yes or no

Probably correct as there isnt really anything else that would cause a large boat to sink quickly.. if it sank slower someone would have noticed.
The owner has got the engine running.. quite a task as i would imagine a new engine is common rail so lots of electronics.

Not sure about that as it looks like a Volvo D2 75 which is mechanical although does have the electronic interface with the control panel.

It's a new D2 50. Mechanical would make it a lot easier to get up and running
