I have opening ports in the main and aft cabins but have yet to install fixed ports in the fore-cabins. I am considering tempered glass ports which have a ceramic coating baked on around the edges and glued (using a sikaflex product) to the hull. I have been assured that this method has overtaken the traditional aluminum framed ports.

I am attaching a photo of the yacht with two ply mock windows on the fore-cabin

Has any one got a comment about the advisability of using this type of port?

Thanks prv, that is very reassuring. I had budgeted $1000 for 4 aluminum framed ports but I can get these 4 for $200 !!
