If you are the owner of a Jeanneau? "Sun........" yacht currently left unattended on pontoon G in Gouvia Marina, you should contact the marina office or me via PM on this furum. The mooring arrangements are causing your boat to hit the poontoon and the lead of your bow line is causing the boat to drift over on top of your neighbours. Several of us were up in the small hours fending her off. Your all over cover is making it difficult/impossible to take any action to secure her and increasing the windage (50kts+ here last night) significantly.

Hello, just an observation. isn't that the responsibility of the Marina in the absence of an owner who has paid his due's ?

I totally agree , the bow lines belong to the marina and if he has informed the marina their staff should do something about the problem , ad far as the cover goes , if that causing a problem then I would think the marina is in it right to remove it .

Gouvia Marina Manager informed our friend three working days ago that it would be resolved. Sadly, nothing has happened so far.

That's doesn't surprise me , it Greece after all , we anchored out side at the moment and we seen some boats as we came ashore the other day which looked like they too could do with being tended to .

Three or four boats got severely damaged on "D" dock in the last big storm and the marina did nothing, we did, but I really think its the responsibilty of the owners to ensure they are securely moored up, the boats damaged wern't and it was obvious, one bow line, (two or even three are available) no stern cross lines, lines of inadequate size, the list goes on. These were very big expensive boats.

If you stand on your stern rail you will see that we have fixed the situation ourselves! Could have done with a little more muscle though Colin. Ivor is 73 now and that over-windaged 50 footer bearing down on him was giving them a rough time.

How are you coping with all this sand in the air?
