Doesn't look like a Buchanan to me - the shear looks wrong, as does the keel configuration.

You're probably right ... I've never seen a reverse sheer Buchanan.

It looks like that the photo was taken with a very short focal length lens - a phone camera maybe? Couldn't this cause some apparent distortion of the sheer line?

'Built by Cardinel', called Lawling Venture? Probably a Cardnell build at Maylandsea. Stuart Engine, needs new transom and deck for a start.

I agree it would be a shame to scrap her, but it would be a very brave ( and hopefully skilled ) person who took her on.
I was going to suggest a Maritime College would be a good place, to use her as a project and end up with a decent sailing boat at the end of it - but some of those photo's look worrying to ( non-wooden boat skilled ) me.

She looks like she might be a Laurent Giles or Illingworth & Primrose design; perhaps a 50s or early 60s JOG boat. Defiantly in need of fairly rigorous dose of TLC, hopefully she’ll find a new home soon!
