Hi,
I am looking for input on my choice of Yacht, the Moody 376.
I like it because of privacy afforded by centre cockpit especially.

Is there anything to watch out for especially on this model.?

Does anyone pay the asking price, I have noticed some 376's have been for sale a year or more.!

thanx

you can basically assume you can get away with a settlement of about 10% off asking price, so I would offer lower that 10% so you can negotiate up. Then minus anything that is flagged up in the survey by negotiation.

Lots of boats don't sell for long periods... and if you go and look at them you generally find out why. No preparation for sale, inside looking tired and dirty. Almost certainly not a Moody issue

We looked at Moody 376's. There are issues with some of the ones that have been on sale for a year. However they are great boats and the only reasons we didn't buy one in the end were that I'm 6'2" and I found full standing headroom on our Sealord, and we couldn't find a 376 at what we though was a fair price. pm me if you wan to talk about any of the boats you are looking at - we might have looked at them too and we could compare notes.

Thanx, 10-15% cheaper brings the dream closer.

I will need to wear my hard business hat,
and leave my rose tinted glasses at home.

I have a swinging mooring on the tidal Thames near Tilbury. First had a Sigma33, now a Victoria. Biggest problem was chafe from the hard buoy caused with wind against tide surging the boat onto the hard mooring buoy. EYE in Suffolk supplied a large inflatable witha 22mm rope through the middle with hard eyes on either end. Swivel shackle below the buoy and shackle above with two polyester warps with plastic eyes, warp 16mm. No problems in three years, and have just replaced the warps to boat. Buoy and internal warp seem to be fine and I will remove and fully check them this winter. One of our members,an ex-waterman swears by warp on his heavy steel boat.
