Hi,
Just a line to let you know of a web site I have found that can supply builders brochures and sailing trial reports on virtually any yacht you would care to mention.

" All of the brochures are carefully scanned and presented in Adobe Acrobat format for easy downloading"

"Brochures are available for download at £10.00 each, plus a single £2.00 handling fee regardless of quantity."

Might be worth checking with owners association websites too as they often have brochures scanned in and available for free.

I wonder who owns the copyright to these scanned brochures? As already said, most of them are available free from owners association websites.

Hi,
the site quotes that price, but in actual fact the price for the two articles which I got was only £6.00 each totaling £12.00 which I did not think was bad at all,if you dont know where to get them from otherwise.

[/ QUOTE ]As is so often the case on here it is a race to see who can be the first to knock someone else's idea. The difference is that for once I am not among the front runners, as I think this is an excellent resource.

If there is an owners association for your vessel then it is certainly worth checking with them first . However, an awful lot of the vessels listed in the very extensive index on the site don't have owners associations. This looks like a great way for owners of more obscure vessels to get hold of the original brochure if they want to.

Copyright is not going to be a issue in most cases as the builders no longer exist and in instances where they do they are not likely to be worried about someone reproducing a document that they have no further interest in commercially.

This is obviously someone sharing his hobby with us because he thinks we might find it useful, and is not a 'get rich quick' scheme.

An excellent resource - particularly for owners of marques for which there IS no association. I've given it a free ad on Bluemoment in the Organisations and Associations listings.

(And no, no connection - this is the first time I have heard of the site).
