I'm trying to link up the manual and electric bilge pumps to use one skin fitting and wonder if anybody out there has come across a Y connector that will take 1.25" and 1.5" hose. I found a uni connector that takes variable hose sizes but only up to a max of 1.25" and others that are all 1.5". The outlet for the manual pump and the skin fitting are 1.5" but the electric takes a 1.25" hose. If not I will have to use the 1.5" connector and put a reducer in the hose to the electric pump. There are diverter valves but again only one size. Any other ideas would be welcome.

i used a 32m/m yorkshire Tee with one hole reduced to 15 m/m then a 90deg bend facing up the pipe run to accept the electric pump discharge. thia mounted above the skin fitting allowing room for the 32 & 15 m/m pipes to have a large sweep bend up the lazerette.
in the past 12 yrs this has worked 100% & simple easy to get plumbing fittings

You may have to be careful when using the manual pump, that its discharge doesn't go back down through the electric pump. If your electric pump is a submersible, they often / normally(?) don't have any non-return valves. In that case you would probably have to fit one.

I'm also not sure if there is any advantage in what you are suggesting. Obviously it would save you fitting an extra skin fitting, but if, in extremis, you needed both pumps at the same time........

If you are determined to use a "Y" branch, it shouldn't be too difficult to make one out of suitably sized stainless pipe, welded.

We have a range of insert nylon pipe fittings http://www.microjet.co.za/emjay_infittings.html

This includes elbows and tees that have male and female threads. This allows U connectors that can be used at the putlet og a bilge pump to takee the pipe up under the deck head then down to the skin fitting. I have also used to tee and elbow screwed together to connect 3 pipes together 2 from one direction to the outlet continuing in the same direction as when connecting two bilge pumps to one skin fitting.

38 mm and 19mm t or y

I have the same but need a 38mm T pr y with a 19mm hose tail for the bilge pump. This is to connect the Automatic 19mm exit to the 38mm from the 2nd manual bilge pump. I have looked at various connectors and can't seem to find anything. I will be using a 19mm non return valce but can't find any way to join the 19mm pipe to the exisiting 38mm (i would have though this was fairly common and was very suprised i could not find it through google)

Thanks everyone

Y Connector

I have acheived exactly what you are describing "Whale" do a 38mm "Y" connector and a 38mm - 19mm reducer.
just connect the 38mm end to the "Y" connector and electris bilge pump hose to the other, I also connected a one wayvalve at the electric bilge pump end.

All available at most chandlers, force4 stock them have a look online.

That's what I concluded, and added a second skin fitting for the new pump. It wasn't hard, and being some way above the waterline neither was it expensive as I used a nylon one rather than brass.
