anyone fancy a pint in poole before xmas?

maybe meet up of a lunchtime, coffee, chat? maybe even venture into town... curry perhaps?... maybe even a mulled wine or several??

if ya wanna do it... we'd have to organise it pronto... you know what these things are like /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

if there's interest i'd even suggest venturing onto the ad hoc thingy....

That's right We're only meeting for coffee and tea and biscuits, ain't we?

Maybe we should pretend differently in case it puts off Scotsmen from Twickenham way /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I\'m in a quandary

I have a lunch to go to on the 6th and have to confirm next week. Problem is it costs £125, so if Poole is on the 6th, I can make my apologies for the lunch and because I'll have saved the said £125, I can really get lashed up. If on the other hand it's on the 13th or 20th, I'll be skint and will have to show you lot of reprobates what a personable and abstemious chap I really am. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: I\'m in a quandary

mate.. i dunno what a quandry is... i don't think we have them down here, but if you're in one make sure the steering works!.

but, if it helps... it's looking like the "do" is going to be around the 13th(?)

you know you're gonna have to go to the previous booked event, sooo...

10 considerations for the Poole do seem to be:-

1) it's in Poole... "it's a beautiful place" (the brochure says so)
2) it's a cheap(ish) night out
3) generally if you're not there... you'll be talked about!
4) you were one of the instigators of this event!!
5) Col's coming.... and he'll have mulled wine!!!
6) Col's coming and he'll have mulled wine!!!!!!!
7) you can be skint later in the year when the credit card bill comes in!!!
8) the car could do with a good run out before winter sets in.
9) the weather will be nicer here... it always is!
10) i'll miss you...sob..

i do hope you can make it...

steve.

Re: I\'m in a quandary

ok, i'll come clean.... i love coffee, especially with the milk added first... and maybe a small biscuit... have to watch the figure!

sometimes i will drink tea, but not generally.. and i sometimes have a sherry... just a small one at christmas, you know.. about three, whilst watching the Queen's speech.

if it's a special occasion, i may be tempted to have a cake!

you coming or what?

steve.
