Has anyone got the current model XM Ocean suit?

I tried it on at the boat show, and liked the fit and feel, but I have no idea about durability or waterproofing, or how well it breathes.

At 289 quid for the suit, it looks like very good value.

I really only want to know about that model, and not the Offshore cheaper one, as I really only like the look of the Musto kit at twice the price if I dont go for the XM Ocean.

Thanks

I've has one of the lesser XM suits since they first came out - about 10 years I think. No problems at all, still 100% watertight.

My guess is that suits like these will all be made by the same one or two Chineses factories - in other words the cost difference is simply the name.

Never tried the XM stuff, but can validate the Musto choice. Top kit, and first rate customer service. Leaking boots and trousers replaced free of charge after 4 years of very heavy (ab)use.

Both of us have XM Ocean suits, which we think are great - really comfortable, warm and dry, and a good fit.

Only issue we have had is one of the zips on the trousers came off (the zipper bit - the actual zip is fine).

Other than that are very happy with them, particularly for the price!

£700?

Is that HPX or MPX?

For cruising I can think of no reason to buy HPX, I wear MPX for racing and cruising, and am afloat for most of the year.

Jim, I picked up my Musto ocean jacket from the Ancasta stand at SIBS for £100. It was last year's colours. No experience of the XM stuff but I have to say had I not picked up the Musto jacket, it would have been the XM kit.

I bought the XM Ocean suit three or 4 years ago, it is first class and shows little sign of wear despite a hard life. It is a bit heavy for just day sailing but it is very warm and definitely good value.
I also prefer to wear things with my name on, not some company's advertising logo so I would avoid the other stuff anyway.
