Xenon Bulbs

I put some Ring bulbs into the "dipped" lights, and despite a claim on the packaging that it improves output by 25% for the same wattage, I can scarcely see the difference.

As to that suggestion 60yr old drivers need 10 time more light than 20 yr olds, it's rubbish. They haven't defined the base light level, or a dozen other parameters.

If they want to talk about light perception, contrast perception, or visual acuity and age, that's a different thing.

Re. Ring products , I discussed these with an electronic engineer about 12 years ago and he said that they were constructed to the very minimum spec. and were best avoided. This was consistent with my own experience and I won't touch them. Anyone else found this?

I have Xenons on my car and I can't say I prefer them. To be honest, apart from the blue tinge they have when first put on I don't really notice much difference over non-Xenons in the other car. They may be brighter... can't say I have noticed much though.

I wouldn't pay extra to have them again unless convinced they are worth it in some way I am not currently aware of.
