I'm confused!

I'm told that these cables are vastly superior to the original 2002 cables fitted to my boat.

But these cables now seem to be sold by Volvo. Did VP buy the company or retire the old cables in favour of Xact ones?

What's so good about Xact cables?

Is there a particular type of Xact cable to buy for a long life?

A couple of months ago I had Xact controls and and cables added to our recently bought Sealine S28 (KAD32s). Looking in the VP accessories catalogue, both the Xact setup and original cables are available, but from what I understand, you need to match the cables with the controls / can't mix the setup.

The controls now feel just like EDC controls (to me). Really smooth shifting & linear throttle application. Admittedly, the old cables were in a sorry state, and needed a very healthy shove to adjust the throttle. Am very pleased with the investment.

DB Marine, the VP specialist in Cookham, fitted them for me.
