You could be right... I didn't bother to mention that the French will not allow anybody to buy a motorboat and go... have to pass graded tests to go out to sea or on a river.... Sometimes they actually seem sensible - the French I mean!

I don't actually know - was testing my 5hp, which I think is over the no driving licence requird HP, in les Minimes the other day wondering the same thing... I actually had a offshore mobo licence holder with me so I was safe as houses..

The limit for no licence for a mobo is 3.5 HP I think... And of course you can motor your sail boat with a 120HP motor of course with no licence because it has sails...
