In the October issue of PBO Andrew Simpson refers to dogs on yachts as Wretched thing,Goes on to say,Dogs are not adapted to boat life,Perched on a sloping deck
dogs tend to be some what short of traction,While'st i realise his remarks
were made very tongue in cheek,I personly believe he was wrong in his point of
view, Rosie my Springer Spaniel spends most of the summer sailing with me,
And is as sure footed as any cat on board, And never bounds out whimpering,
as Andrew puts it to go to go ashore, Half an hour ashore before we set off
and she is good for 10 to 12 hours without any discomfort.
Lots of benefits having a dog on board i.e,
You can have a good rant with them, Even shout at them, when they get on your nerves. Unlike crew, wives or children they never argue or answer back,End of the day, good feed, bit of affection, good cuddle and that's the last i see of mine until morning, When she's up looking at me,Her eyes and actions saying ,
Come on ,Where we off today then, Absolute magic,Andrew if you never sailed with a dog on board before, All i can say is ,Don't knock it until you'v tried it. Am i alone in these sentiments or does any one else agree /disagree.

About ten years ago. As soon as the tender was near the water he was on it first. Got near the boarding ladder and he was on deck, We pulled the tender near the stern he was first on the tender. motored ashore he jumped from the tender on to the jetty completely dry.
THEN ran straight into the water to have a swim before setling in the back seat of the car
He was a Heinz pedgreed pouch

You can't win
