I was too heavy-handed today, trying to plug my AH 2000+ into the fixed connection in the cockpit. Eventually I wasn't able to part the two bits, and I ended up pulling the wires out of the Autohelm power cable itself. There's no way to repair it myself, although I only need the pos and neg wires, and did think about just cutting the plug off and just using connectors! Not really a good fix.
I'll give Raymarine a ring in the morning, but wondered if anyone else had had this self-inflicted damage, and how did you deal with it?
The unit itself is fine (as far as I know), so to me it should be just a straightforward, but costly, power cable replacement by Raymarine.
Thanks.
