I'm planning to make a holder or organiser for the various flags on Ariam - basically a strip of canvas with a row of pockets on it, to hang on the hull side between the back of the settee and the lockers above. I want to label the pockets, and since it's going to be in plain view in our nicely-appointed saloon, I want those labels to be nice and neat.

You can get some rather smart looking school name tapes these days:

which would be ideal, except that of course they come in sets of several dozen the same, and I want one of each of maybe a dozen different names.

Anyone know of a firm making individual fabric labels?

Cheers,

Pete

Not as nice as embroidery but probably a lot less expensive would be heat applied transfer lettering. Any local sign shop will do this for you. Small sizes can actually be applied easily with a domestic iron, so you could just ask them to produce the labels and do the application yourself. You can have pretty much any font and various different materials, not just 'flat white' letters.

(the lettering on the T-shirt in my avatar is heat applied transfer letting)
