would you take the boat out in this?

What's so bad about the forecast (as link to live forecast may have changed) - mostly dry and not too breezy. Cold temperature should not be an issue if dry and not too wet - assuming you have modern "tech" clothing for each and every layer.
I don't just say this as an armchair theorists - we had a great sail yesterday in 1C temp. Though stopped to anchor for lunch and ate below decks with heating on, which may be a bit softee (and a first for us)
A bucket of salt water usualy clears he ice from the decks (just to ensure we don't sound too soft)

If it is safe, go for it

I would go out. Often winter wanderings can be very beautiful, even in the grey of winter!

Probabaly not. I don't like being cold.
It depends on where and why. Iv had some lovely winter sailing dry cold and clear frosty days are nice its the wet snow damp cold i don't like.
Went out last weekend in light snow sub zero. Dull cloudy cold. i was checking out a boat with a surveyor otherwise i would have stayed home.
Of course if it works out i will have to go sailing winter snow storms cold or not.

I was in leeds so I came over to the boat

the forecast is a bit carp

If I was in the area I might just go and look at the boat. I almost ceratinly not go on board .

I would most definitely stay stay on the boat or consider taking it out.

I'd get home again into the warm as quickly as possible.

Sailing is about pleasure. If you enjoy it in that weather, go for it. I wouldn't unless I really had to for some reason or other.

You seem to have linked to the Wednesday forecast.
If it was Tuesday and the tide was right for early afternoon it seems OK. 8 knots should be fine for your boat. However the morning will be be very chilly and the afternoon not a lot better as there is no sun.
I'd certainly not bother.

Just spent three days RIBbing around the docks. 0 degrees and snow. No such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. 2 layers thermals, fleece mid layer, extra fleece, oilskins. Fleecy waterproof hat. All OK, fingers and toes a little cold.

Dylan, I think you will find it is a TWELVE candle night tonight !!
Twelve candles! I get so cold that I am beginning to doubt if I will be able to stay on the boat overnight in future even in the height of summer.

Visibility?

So long as the forecast was giving good visibility, if you are going to be on the boat, you might as well be sailing.

I was out a couple of days ago and it was magical. Going again this week once the tides are ok.

Some years ago it was so cold at home that the sewage pipes froze and with a C16th inglenook fireplace it was impossible to defrost the inside of the house. It was a welcome relief to abandon it for the warmth of a weeks cruising the windswept and frozen wastes of Chichester harbour. We did have a single plaque fixed gas heater onboard though!
