Would you have heating in your boat?

Im a big baby I dont like being cold, so I think I will have to do it, now for what type and how much do I pay

Ah ok, the boat is currently at Swanick Marina, and she will be berthed at Chichester, once ive paid for her in full, which is when the sale of the house goes through.

id get a memory foam maytress anyway as the mattresses they provide are rock hard, I could never sleep on one of them

I can recommend Keto Marine based at Swanwick. They did the Webasto systems on both my new boats.

Don't go down the route of an eber or webbasto, the Chinese heaters are just as good and a tenth of the price. Use the eber fittings and ducting yeah. The heaters them selves though are exactly the same except the colour. Ive had a Chinese version for 3 seasons and it works just perfect. And at £100 each, if it packs up tomorrow it's so cheap you just buy another.

If your heating is making any more noise than a quiet tick from the pump and a very gentle hiss from the air vents, requiring a check with the hand to confirm air flow ,something is not quite right.

I agree.
From inside my boat the Eberspacher heater sound is not at all intrusive despite running it on full power and despite the heater being located under the saloon floor in the lazarette.
I notice some sound from the air intake but the intake vent is located outside of the accommodation space in the cockpit . Heater exhausts from boats are audible from outside but not an issue as far as I am concerned.

There are loads of opinions regarding heaters and many have their favourite make. I’ll put a shout out for Wallas, not least because it’s very quiet. Personally, unless you’re skilled (and have the time), I would have it professionally fitted by a local heating specialist you can always go back to. This may actually sway you between, for example, Eber, Webasto or Wallas (or indeed others) depending on who is close - they are all good makes. Depending on the areas you want to heat, installation can be invasive and I’ve seen some proper bodge jobs in the pipe and vent work that makes the make of heater of secondary concern!
