i'd be delighted to (for half an hour, provided you did all the varnishing first....)

incidentally what does 'bridge clearance' mean?

Ken,
If a buy a shiny Beneteau then I would be so happy to take you out on it. You could spend so much time,,,erm,,,well,,,err,,,varnishing?,,,no,,,sailing it?,,,yes/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Both beautiful boats - if you've got the time for the varnishing.

Personnally I'd go for the Holman design

I'd have to agree too.

Not a tadge biased are we? The Buchanan looks like a fine boat also IMO, though I'd want to get some weight off the counter.

On balance I'd probably have to agree...

Acshully I think it looks the epitome of manky old boats and I would'nt waste my money on it. Much better with a nice new boat with warranties etc that make life so much easier. Nane of yon varnishing and all that crap, just go off sailing ..

Whits yin o' yon when its workin' .. ah'm thinkin its no a necessary evil oan a AWB efter a' .. get rid o' it an gie yersell a bit mair room in ra cockpit!

Re: Warrantees?

I don't see why you should be so concerned about warrantees. A proper boat from a reputable dealer will be so well built that there should be no serious problems within the first 50 years or so. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

To think that a warrantee is necessary is an admission that you have doubts as to the seaworthiness of the boat - in which case I would run a mile.

After all when was the last time you heard of rudder problems on a Holman-designed boat?

I saw this and thought of you..

Re: Warrantees?

Acshully yer right, so far the "warranty" repair has cost me 4 times as much as if I'd just bought, or got a new one made, between lost earnings & various asociated costs .. and it ain't fixed yet!
