Would a Motorhome holiday suit a Motorboater?

Thanks all for the replies - we will soon be off to Brittany for a tour in the hired Motorhome.

Any suggestions of places to stay/ visit / see?

And of course, any suggestions for where to hire a day boat when we are out there along with suggested bays to visit?

Well done you. Hope you have a great time and report back on your experience :encouragement:

Mont Saint-Michel is a must visit. There is an aire within cycling distance and a campsite in the village but I would recomend using the campsite attached to the Mercure hotel actually within the visitor centre which is great for jumping on the late buses (free and run till midnight) when the crowds have started to leave and you can visit while all illuminated.

Just make sure you have all your provisions before parking up.

Nothing worse than setting your pitch and then realising you've forgotten to buy the essentials....like beer.

Can be a pain "nipping" to the shops.

That is why a caravan is far better than a motorhome

Why not buy a sib and outboard to take rolled up with you. Would be great fun.

Good point!

Now as a Motorboater I’ve found that having a motor/engine is a great little tool for makin it was easier to get from A to B; so that’s why I just bought a couple of e-Bikes to take on our trip; so now if we forgot to pick up any essentials (a.k.a. Beer/Wine) we can make a quick(ish) dash to local shop.

And Bigplumbs - Good idea on taking a SIB - I could take my 2.6m tender and outboard with me - I hadn’t thought of that ?

I think you will find several little coves and other areas to poke around. I wonder if 2.6 m is a bit small but it will still be fun. You can get a 3.2 m one from ebay quite cheap and they are good boats I have been using mine for 3 seasons now and with my 9.8 hp Tohatsu it nips along nicely

We have been to the Morbihan area several times .It includes a inland sea area perhaps 4 times the size of Poole harbour. There are about 100 islands of varying sizes mostly private but two or three support bars restaurants nd beaches. There islands and mainland towns are supported by a very good ferry service.Offshore there are two islands at eight miles with small village at each and 15 miles out Belle Isle much larger well with visiting both have ferry services.
There is a large Port Solent style marina near the entrance to Morbihan inland sea where you can hire small motorists
Also a municipal campsite at Port Navalo with some pitches looking out over the marina approach channel.
there is also an aire about 1km north east of marina.
Hope this helps
